| David's interest in antiques started when he was
just twelve. He entered the profession after leaving school and was one of
the youngest at 21, to qualify by examination of the professional body known
as The Incorporated Society Of Valuers And Auctioneers. Later to be
amalgamated with the Chartered Surveyors. David worked for a local firm in
Rugby before leaving for London in 1974. Four years later he was head hunted
by an auction house in Royal Leamington Spa. David became manager and valuer and
later a partner, remaining there for nearly twenty five years.

In that time it is not surprising that David has built up an immense knowledge on just about anything about
antiques and collectables. So much so, that his fellow experts on Bargain
Hunt and Flog It! call him 'The Master'. David started out on the early Bargain Hunt programmes as an
auctioneer. But it was soon apparent
that David would be a perfect expert and so it proved to be.
January 2002 saw the start of Flog
It! David was an expert on the first programme, it being his idea to stage the valuation day in Coventry.
David ceased being an auctioneer in
early 2003 and he
now
has his own business as an independent
professional valuer.
April 2005 a new BBC programme,
20th Century Roadshow hit our TV screens. David is one of the experts.
